Mottahedeh’s Virginia Blue is a recent introduction. Inspired by a pair of antique plates, circa 1790, Mottahedeh has faithfully reproduced the originals that are found in the Colonial Williamsburg historic collection. History records that the original porcelain classic design was used on a Tidewater Virginia plantation on the eve of the American Revolution. Two place setting styles are available for order. The dinner plate, the bird design in a salad/dessert plate, and a cup and saucer are identical in each place setting. The bread and butter plate is available with either the bird design or a blue and white ecru border similar to the dinner plate. The 5 piece place setting is dishwasher and microwave safe. The service plate pictured with the Virginia Blue place setting is from the exquisite creamware Longton Hall collection. Measuring a generous 13” diameter, the Longton Hall charger plate can also be used for a cake plate. (Hand washing is recommended for the charger plate.) |
